Looking for Old Documentation

Postby Nutmegan » Wed Oct 14, 2015 6:00 pm

If anyone has any of the old documentation, no matter how old, would you be kind enough to forward copies of it to me? or even a link? PM me for my email if you don't have it.

We're still using CanaryMod on our server and have started doing our own bug fixes to the jar. I'd like to start updating the user documentation for my own sake and it would be nice if I didn't have to start completely from scratch.

Also, would it be ok if I started converting it over to our CanaryMod GitHub wiki for our branch?

Thanks, Victoria

I helped work on a lot of the canary handbook that was on canarymod.net sadly all of that was lost.
I don't have anything myself but if I ever found the time I would be willing to work with someone to help remake some of it.

Perhaps we could remake it through NeptuneDocs?

Fortunately the Internet Archive has an old copy - phew!

We, at codecraft.es, can work on passing the documentation available at web archive to Markdown. I think we can do it on Friday nov 27. Maybe we can arrange a video call to distribute the work.

What do you think?

I've created a github repo for the old CanaryMod Admin Guide.

https://github.com/walterhiggins/canarymod-admin-guide/

I basically just created a markdown version of the old guide (by hand) from the internet archive. Original team are credited in the preface. I think it's important to have a copy of this online somewhere other than via the wayback machine.

Maybe we could look into opening the official repo to a few people for wiki editing.
